DREDG Signs With SUPERBALL MUSIC

Superball Music has announced the signing of DREDG to the label. The band — Gavin Hayes (vocals, guitars),Drew Roulette (bass, keyboards, samples),Mark Engles (guitars) and Dino Campanella (drums, keyboards) — just completed work on its fifth album and started a two-month tour with CIRCA SURVIVE, CODESEVEN and ANIMALS AS LEADERS in the U.S. Once those dates conclude, the band will perform a handful of headlining shows.

DREDG has been holed up in a San Francisco recording studio since mid-August, working on the as-yet-untitled album with producer Dan The Automator. The follow-up to 2009's critically acclaimed "The Pariah, The Parrot, The Delusion" will be ready for a spring 2011 release.

Hayes had this to say on the signing: "We are excited to continue our musical journey with Superball Music and release our upcoming album in territories in which we have never officially released music in before. Not only are we looking forward to working with people that are fans of DREDG, but also with individuals who are fans of interesting and diverse music as well."

Superball Music will releasing the new DREDG record worldwide (outside of Germany, Austria andSwitzerland). The label is already home to critically acclaimed bands such as ...AND YOU WILL KNOW US BY THE TRAIL OF DEAD and OCEANSIZE, and was formed in 2007 as an outlet for acts with a stylistic range that is centered on independent and alternative music, as well as acts that transcend genres and include a variety of contemporary directions. Owner Thomas Waber states, "When I set up the Superball Music label, DREDG was on my shortlist of bands that I really wanted to work with. So frankly speaking: I am very excited about this signing! Together with the new albums by OCEANSIZE and ...AND YOU WILL KNOW US BY THE TRAIL OF DEAD, this will really establish the label on a worldwide basis. There is some great music in the pipeline from Superball Music for next year and at the same time we are still looking for new talent as well!"
